"For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation. "Ephesians 2:14

What is peace to you? What does it mean? Is it something you want so badly? Can it be obtained?

These are questions we will come up with if we just sit still for one moment and think about it.

Does peace mean, there is no physical war with guns and bloodshed? Or maybe you believe peace is a quiet time that you have when you are not working, reading your awesome book or even just laying under a tree, looking up into the sky? Think for a moment and try to figure out what peace means to you? Do you have peace?

The way I understand it. Peace is to join two opposing forces. Something not lots of people experience because they carry hatred, racism, disappointment with them everywhere they go. They cannot experience peace because they do not fully understand what peace can do for them in this very short life they have on this planet.

The Bible says that Jesus is our peace. He joined us with the Father. Remember, we deserve eternal death, but Jesus gave up His Life so that He could make peace between you and God.

Something amazing happens when you allow Jesus to work in your heart. He is not rough with your heart. He is so gentle and kind! The Holy Spirit guides you closer and closer every single time that you pray, every time that you read your Bible, every time you speak to others about Him and every time that you meditate on His greatness and give thanks.

You cannot expect to have peace, if you do not nurture your relationship with Jesus. Think about it, any relationship on this planet, needs to be nurtured to enable it to grow. If you do not talk to your partner, friend or child, the relationship will not deepen and you will not understand who that person really is, because you do not know that person. You need to listen, carefully when they speak, you need to look at them and see who they really are. Understand their dreams, know what they like and do not like. The same applies to Jesus. You cannot know Him, if you do not take the time to get to know who He is. The best place to start is His word. It does not matter if you read your Bible on your phone or if you read just daily devotions. You have to start somewhere.

Before you know it, your eyes will open, you will start to have peace that goes above all understanding. All hatred, racism, disappointment will leave you and that heavy burden that you've been carrying all the years will fall off. Jesus will show you what you can do, to experience that peace and yes, sometimes it is hard, but believe me, it is harder to live with all those things that puts weight on your shoulders.

Take a moment today. Go to Jesus, speak to Him and listen. He speaks in ways that we cannot understand. Do not expect to hear a loud voice, but keep your eyes open. He use other people, circumstances, He even takes what Evil dishes out and turn it into good.

Make Jesus your friend today and experience the peace that is above all understanding.
