"That their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ." Colossians 2:2
I know that I am a child of God. I know that Jesus died on the cross for my sins, but sometimes doubt gets the better of me. Thoughts like: "What if I only think I love Jesus. What if this feeling I have is just because I believe a book or heard a sermon that appeals to me.? What if I had no idea what it actually mean to say I love Jesus?"
I am sure lots of people struggle with this one time or another in their lives. What amazes me even more, is all the mysteries of God. The Bible shows us who He is but it is the mysteries that keeps us on our toes. We are not suppose to know it all, because if you know it all. Will we still search for answers?
The point is. God knows we are searching. He knows we have questions and He shows us when we are ready to receive the truth about a "mystery."
That is exactly what happened to me this morning. My question on whether I really love God was answered. He came to me through a book I was reading. It is truly amazing how God speaks to us. He knows how He made us and how we will react to certain ways of communication.

So let me share with you what I felt and believe now and how I know that I truly love Jesus.
Love cannot be forced. You cannot force anyone to love you and you cannot force yourself to love someone else, but if you love someone, you act in certain ways. Let's say there are two kids in front of you. One is your child and one is a stranger. You will feel love for both of the kids because that is an instruction from God, but your love for your child is different. You do certain things for your child that you would not do for the other child. That is one type of love that you have for your child. The same applies to God.
If you did not believe in Him and you did not LOVE Him. You would not obey Him, follow Him, let go of the things of the world. The Bible says: "If you you love me, you will obey me!" So what do you do as a child of God that you love so much. You obey Him. You stop doing the things of the world. You listen to the holy spirit. You crucify yourself to become more like Him.
The fact that you are doing that is not because God forced you to or you forced yourself. It is called love...
