"In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. And he came to her and said, "Hail, O favored one, the Lord is with you!" But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and considered in her mind what sort of greeting this might be. And the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of his kingdom there will be no end." Luke 1:26-35
As I read these verses I thought about this song:
Let's pretend for a moment. Imagine you are Mary's best friend and she told you about what has happened to her. Obviously you will be in shock, overwhelmed and excited at the same time, but you will also look at her in awe for carrying the Son of God. After a few moments, you realize how important she is and you commit to yourself that you will protect her at all cost. You will respect her, love her, treat her right just like God is doing because she is carrying His Son. That is just what we will do to someone that is important enough right?
So, if he lives in your fellow believers, just like Jesus was in Mary's womb! Should we not treat each other with respect and honor? It changes everything right. Ponder about this and you will see how your heart is shifted. You will no longer see your brothers in sisters in Christ just like normal people. You will see them carrying the Spirit of God and that demands respect, honor, protection, love and so much more.
Does that mean we should only be in reverence for the reborn children of God. No, not at all, but we can love and see those who are lost through the eyes of Jesus. Even if it is difficult. Think what people did to Jesus. They spat on Him, Killed Him and yet He loved them.
Let's start making a difference in this world by loving unconditionally.
