PHILIPPIANS 2: 1-18

So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Recently, (the last two months) I've decided to take one book of the Bible and systematically work through it. Not reading chapters and chapters, but to focus on a section at a time, waiting patiently to hear the message that applies to me. I am always so surprised in what I am reading, because in the past, lots was just words on the paper, but now things are getting more clear and it is by the Holy Spirit that revelation is given. We cannot understand without Him and it brings me to the message that I have read this morning.

We might think that we can do all things in our own power. That we do not need anybody. We might feel that nobody cares about us and nobody likes us, but if we dive a bit deeper there could be many reasons why you are not liked. It could be that you are:

The list goes on and on, because you cannot box selfish ways.

In Philippians 2:1-18 the word tells us that we need to count other more significant than ourselves. It does not matter what they have done against you, or how you feel about them. If you start humbling yourself you will experience peace above all understanding. Hatred, resentment, unforgiveness is not hurting the other person, it is destroying your peace and steal your joy, and if you think but it is not possible, think again. Christ died so that we can become more and more like Him. We just need to believe and ask the Holy Spirit to help us and change our hearts.

Think about it this way. Jesus is GOD! He created this world by just speaking it into existence.

Do you not for one moment think...Jesus (my creator) become a servant....Who am I not to do the same...and one day, I too will be raised into eternity with Him.

GLORY TO OUR GOD, THE FATHER, THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT!
