"And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ." Genesis 4:21

I have many questions...the more I read the Word of God, the more questions or rather say thoughts develop. I want to know more. I want to see how it all started.

One day, when God come to fetch me, I want Him to show me the creation. I want to see it like a movie, all happening right in front of me. But I realize that will not

be enough. I want to see more. I want to see everything He did in the Bible times. I want to see how He saved me, my kids, my husband so many times. Yeah, I know the topic

is where and how did music start? I had to tell you how my thoughts develop for such a topic like this.

So, as you can see the first verse in my Bible that I could find talking about music was in Genesis 4:21. At least we know that music started right in the very beginning. Well, for human mankind. We need to understand that music the way we experience it is different from what God intends music to be. Even if we read the first interaction with music as early as Genesis we need to understand that music started with God because He is the Creator of it all. If you go Google where music started, the world will throw all different kinds of stuff at you. Like Greek gods and Egypt times and all that nonsense. People writing articles like that is clearly blinded by their own beliefs.

I like to share a video with you that is really awesome. It will change your thoughts about where music started...and just like me you will realize that music started before humans existed. So, stop reading now, watch this video first.

It is awesome right? Did you cry? I was crying my eyes out! Nature is constantly singing...making music. Do yourself a favor. Stand up a little bit earlier in the morning. Make yourself a cup of coffee and go find a spot in the sun (if you are like me) or in the shade. While sipping on your coffee, close your eyes and listen. I mean, really listen. If you are living in a quiet suburb like I am, or in the country side, then you will hear different types of birds, you might even hear a few dogs barking. If you do it at night, you might even hear frogs. If you have a a pool, you might hear water flowing. All of nature is making music to glorify God. Even the water sounds are music. A reminder of what God created. We can hear it. Let that sink in. We are witnessing nature worshipping God. We should do that too. We need to worship Him. Whether you can sing or not, you can worship Him, you have a voice.

Now, music can also destroy. God made everything beautiful, sin came and took what was good and made it evil. Look at the music that is released on a daily basis. It uses God's name in vain! It talks about sex! It promotes violence! It creates depression! I can go on and on. Worst of all, it creates Idolatry! People are hanging onto the lips of human beings. Worshipping them. It goes completely against why music was created. I can testify right now. I feel different when I listen to different music. When I listen to proper Christian Music, I feel encouraged, hopeful, peaceful. When I listen to rock bands like AC/DC (which I do not) but just giving an example. I feel angry, irritated and want to just hit something. Music is like an input source into your thought process. It prompts us sub-consciously towards all different kinds of sin. When you listen to music where God's name is used in vain, you will eventually start using God's name in your conversations. You will not even notice what you are doing, because everyone else is doing it and the music already dropped that into your mind. The word clearly state: "You shall not use the name of the Lord your God in vain." This is just one example. Teenagers these days rebels against their parents. It is not just the influence of peer pressure but also the type of music they listen to.

Now, I did not say you cannot enjoy good music, but at least know what the lyrics are saying.

Till next time.
