Colossians 3:3 - "For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God."

Colossians 3 is all about Christian conduct. It describes how Christians need to remove sins from their lives: they are to "put to death" spiritually speaking, all sinful desires.

What impacted me most in this chapter is my verse of the day which is verse 3.

Now, we all read the Bible through many times, but things are not always revealed to us. It is only revealed at a time when the Holy Spirit decides to reveal it, and that is what I experienced with this verse.

"For you have died, and your life is HIDDEN with Christ in God." wow, wow, wow!

Can you see what that means? When something becomes hidden, you do not see it anymore. It is like it does not exist. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour and allow the Holy Spirit to work in our hearts we become hidden. The old person died and no longer exist because Christ in us is now revealed through the fruit of the Spirit:

Goodness

Kindess

Patience

Self Control

Peace

Joy

Love....and this is a big one!

LOVE...It does not matter what religion you are, what your world view is, love is what allows imperfect, diverse people to be bound together as on spritual body.

What is love?

Let's take an example of what love is not first:

Love does not hate!

Love does not lie!

Love does not envy!

Love is not jealous!

Love is not resentful!

Love is not lust!

Love does not murder!

Love does not gossip!

The list goes on and on!

So, love is the opposite. Next time when you gossip about someone, or tell them a lie...you are not loving them.

Which brings me back to the verse I started with. When you are a reborn person in Christ, you become invisible. Your needs and earthly desires are hidden, because your are reflecting Jesus, and not the old person anymore.

I pray that the Holy Spirit will make this verse burn inside our hearts, so that we can become more and more like Him, and less and less like ourselves.
